On World Book Day 2026, we asked The Widdershins Theatre, a puppetry and storytelling company, to come back and visit us again. They put on two absolutely fantastic performances of 'Snow White, Rose Red and Brown Bear'.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Andy, who mesmerised the children and staff with his ability to manage a solo performance – using props, puppets, music and many different voices for the characters. The laughter could be heard throughout the corridors of South End Infant School and much fun was had by all!

This year, we invited the children to come to school dressed as a character from a fairy tale, and they all looked absolutely amazing. The children were also set the challenge of dressing up or decorating a potato in the style of their favourite book  character – there were some rather fancy-looking potatoes at South End Infant School on this day!
