This is your "go to" Year R/EYFS page.
When your child starts school they learn through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). You will also hear the first year referred to as the Reception Year (Yr R).

Part Time Timetable Routes -
In the morning at 9am and at the end of the day at 3.10pm; enter the main gates, follow the path past the car park (keeping school on the left) and go all the way around the school grounds to the bottom playground.
Midday day pick ups at 11.30am and drop offs at 12.40pm, school is partially closed for safety; enter the main gates and turn immediately left and follow the path down to EYFS playground.
Part Time Timetable runs from Wednesday 3rd September - Friday 5th September. Full time school starts on Monday 8th September.
The school pack you received on the New Intake evening has more information.
When your child starts full time (Monday 8th September) - school begins at 8.50am and ends at 3.10pm.
Parents/carers - please arrive on time for morning registration, please be waiting ready to collect your child at 3.10pm. Thank you.

BOOK BAGS, WATER BOTTLES & P.E. BAGS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE.
Lunchtime
Children can bring their own packed lunch or order hot meals/sandwiches via our provider - Kingswood Catering. More information will be provided when your child starts school.

Cool Milk Scheme
The partnership between schools, local authorities and Cool Milk supplies free milk for under-fives and Pupil Premium Children. It also provides subsidised milk for children aged 5-11 years at a price of 31p per 189ml portion daily. Learning To Read At South End Infant School:
We follow a scheme called "Sounds Write." The scheme is effective and well structured. It promotes quality teaching/learning and consistency across classes and year groups. All our teachers are fully trained in delivering the phonics programme.

Children are taught to write in lower case. Capitals are taught later and/or only used to begin names or to start a sentence. We will be using a programme called "Kinetic Letters."
