  • EYFS Transport Topic 2024

    We would like to say a huge thank you to the local community for enabling our EYFS children to experience such a wide variety of modes of transport again this year. The children and staff had such enormous fun and so many amazing learning opportunities were provided.

     

    Special thanks are given to the following people who visited us: Andy Wiggins with a double-decker bus; East Midlands Ambulance Service & Lisa Liszewski with an ambulance and paramedic equipment; Stewart from Mowerman with a tractor; David Pickles from Rushden Sea Cadets with a canoe; L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage with a digger and dumper truck; Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service with a fire engine; John Sarrington with his vintage Hot Rod; Wayne Saunders from AW Fabrications with his self-made sports car, winning soapbox, Son's kart and a Dodge Charger kindly brought in by his friend; Paul Blake with his jet ski and Mrs Lewis with her vintage Volkswagon Beetle

  • Around The World Day

    Last Friday the children and staff celebrated 'Around the World' Day. Children were invited to dress up in outfits which represented the coutry their class would be 'visiting'. Lots of fun facts were learnt about these countries, and lots of fun was had by all!

  • Stick Man - Royal & Derngate Theatre

    We had a fabulous time at the Royal & Derngate on Friday 15th December – to see the children’s faces watching so intently and being so engaged was everything that is brilliant about working in an infant school and sharing magical moments.

    Many thanks in particular go to Mrs Savage, Mrs Baker and Mrs Blainey for hours of work that went into making the trip possible.

    We have decided that we would like more of the same next year!!!

  • Lancaster Farm Shop - Merry Christmas!

    They have a fabulous range of Christmas trees and wreaths available at very reasonable prices, as well as delicious fresh produce… why not pay them a visit and say hello to the farm animals and cat!

    Thank you very much to everyone who supported the Royal British Legion's 2023 Poppy Appeal, we raised a wonderful £188.68.

  • Children in Need 2023

    We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our amazing families and staff who donated to Children in Need this year.

     

    As a school we raised £186.20, which is wonderful!

     

    We were also blown away by the fabulous entries to our Pudsey colouring/make competition.

  • Anti-Bullying Week - Odd Socks Day 2023

    Monday 13th November, marks the beginning of Anti-Bullying Week in school.

     

    We kicked off our week by taking part in Odd Socks Day. Children and school staff came to school in their usual school uniform/clothing, with the fabulous addition of wearing odd socks!

     

    We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that participated, helping to celebrate an Anti-Bullying Culture at our school.

  • Rushden Library Summer Reading Challenge

    We are so very proud to announce that South End Infant School won the Summer Reading Challenge at Rushden Library for the most children visiting from our School.

     

    We won £75 worth of book vouchers, received a lovely certificate and a spectacular shield to display in the school for a year! This was all presented to us by Hayley Dimes from Rushden Library and the Town Mayor.

     

    A massive well done to all of our children and families for showing their love of reading by visiting our fabulous local library.

  • Rushden Food Bank

    As part of our Harvest celebrations this year, we reached out to the local food bank and offered our support.

     

    Donations from our wonderful families and staff came in abundance and this morning, some of our pupils helped to get everything ready to take to Encompass Charity in Rushden.

     

    Thank you so much to everyone that helped, your kindness makes such a difference and is very much appreciated.
