Pupil Premium

All children in Infant Schools receive Universal Free School meals and, because of this, often families do not realise that their child could be in receipt of additional funding to support their learning from a much earlier age.

The Government allocates schools additional money to help us raise the attainment of pupils who are eligible for what is known as 'Pupil Premium'. You may qualify if you receive one of the following;

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

If you qualify this will entitle your child to funding that the school is able to allocate to support your child's educational outcomes and they will be entitled to this funding for a minimum of 6 years even if your financial circumstances change.

At SEIS, we offer parents / carers of eligible pupils the option to use a proportion of this funding towards uniform, trips and clubs. Our Pupil Premium Virtual Voucher System for the academic year 2021-2022 extends this to the value of £150.00, which can be used for the following;

  • Uniform, Book Bags, PE Bags and Water Bottles up to the value of £60.00
  • School Trips up to the value of £30.00
  • Extra-curricular clubs up to the value of £60.00
