We would like to say a big thank you to all of our families and staff who supported our Macmillan Cake Sale on Friday 26th September 2025. The total raised was £120.09, which will provide a Support Worker for someone in need for a whole day.
The donation of cakes for the sale was so generous that we had another day of yumminess the following day... Thank you so much!
Incredible Eggs provided us with a 10 day hatching kit again this year... the eggs come from a 200 acre farm in Derbyshire and the owners, Michael and Zoey have 4 breeds of ducks - Indian Runners, Khaki Campbells, Silver Appleyards and Cayuga's.
Both the children and staff had such an amazing time observing the whole process again, it was a wonderul educational experience and we were all disappointed at how quickly time flew and the ducklings had to return back to the farm.
We cannot wait to do it all again next year!
Between September and November last year many of you signed up to Asda's 'Cashpot for Schools' scheme, whereby a percentage of the money you spent was put in a pot to send back to us.
We have had the totals in, and you raised an incredible £630.36!
This money will be used in school to buy valuable resourses and experiences for the children to all enjoy.
Many thanks for your support!
A huge thank you to all of our our families for your generosity and support for the NSPCC Number Day this year, we raised an amazing £146.70.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service during our Reception year group's transport topic. The children had a wonderful time listening to the Firefighter's talk, as well as climbing on board the fire engine, hearing the siren and having a turn with the hose!
There is a new page and link on the NFRS web site that allows people to either fill in details to request a visit or get Fire Safety advice from the website. The link is:

On Friday 14th March, South End Infant School embarked on an adventure into the realm of dinosaurs, with a captivating Jurassic Journey fossil excavation experience.
Within sandboxes, the children were able to delve in to unearth and classify fossils from an array of legendary dinosaurs. From the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex to the armoured Stegosaurus and the horned Triceratops, alongside a few ancient surprises, our young explorers uncovered the mysteries of these creatures of the past.
As if that wasn’t enough... ground-breaking augmented reality technology was incorpartated into the journey. Our budding paleontologists were able to use tablets and special books to bring these creatures to life and help them to answer all of their burning questions.
We also chose to enhance the experience even further with a visit from Reggie, an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex!!
A massive thank you goes out to Giant Journeys for the incredibly exciting and educational experience, much fun was had by all of our children and staff!
To encourage reading and a love of books, we arranged a visit on World Book Day 2025 from a puppetry and storytelling company, The Widdershins Theatre, who put on two absolutely amazing performances of 'Pigs and Bears Don't Come in Pairs'.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Andy, who wowed the children and staff with his ability to manage a solo performance - using props, puppets, music and many different voices for the characters. The laughter could be heard throughout the corridors of South End Infant School and much fun was had by all!
More information about this company can be found by visiting: https://www.widdershins.co.uk/
Thank you to everyone who donated money on 'Christmas Jumper Day' in December.
We raised an amazing £71.57 - Shaun The Sheep is very happy!
And 100% of the money goes to the wonderful charity Save The Children.
Thank you so much for the amazing efforts our families went to in order to prepare the children for our 'Around the World Day'. The children looked fantastic!
We had a wonderful day and, as always, the SEIS Staff were outstanding in preparing really fun activities for the children to enjoy... whilst dressed up as cabin crew, ground crew, a kangaroo and even a Cleopatra!
We are so proud to announce that for the first time ever, South End Infant School have been awarded the Poppy Cup by the Royal British Legion!! This is a spectacular achievement, especially for an Infant School. A big thank you to the members of our School Council for receiving the award during a special assembly, as well as all our families who helped to raise money for such an amazing cause.
Members from the Royal Bristish Legion, past and present, as well as a reporter from a local newspaper attended the occasion. The link for his report is below:
Lynne Baker from the RBL stated that the key points behind being awarded the Poppy Cup were as follows:
1. Money raised throughout the two-week period of remembrance per pupil for the annual Poppy Appeal, (e.g total sum raised divided by pupils on roll).
2. The school's commitment towards Remembrance, through activities, school projects and education throughout the year.
3. Further examples such as, participation in services of remembrance, art displays, poetry and writing, visits, talks including visiting speakers, opportune occasions to convey the message of Remembrance, holding events connected to remembrance, holding assemblies in the period leading up to Remembrance, organised visits or talks, (including visiting speakers) in the period of Remembrance, taking part in community events, for example parades and acts of Remembrance.
