Twelve of our fantastic Year 2 children were selected to represent South End Infant School at a Summer Sports Festival held at Irthlingborough Infant School.
They enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a friendly competition alongside children from Finedon Infant School and Irthlingborough Infant School.
Although it was a rather soggy morning and the field was a little damp, the children embraced the challenge and enthusiastically took part in a range of new sporting activities. Every child gave their best effort and approached each event with determination and a positive attitude.
The main events included mini-golf and archery. In the chipping competition, children aimed to chip the ball over cones to score points. They also took part in both archery and puzzle archery, where they had three arrows to shoot and score as many points as possible. Another challenge was the putting competition, which required children to accurately putt the ball towards target cones.
To round off the morning, the children competed in a long-distance running race, completing three laps of the field. It was a great test of endurance, and two of our pupils paced themselves brilliantly, finishing in an impressive 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
All the children represented South End Infant School exceptionally well, and we are incredibly proud of them!
